Mother’s Blessing

Instead of a Baby Shower, a Mother gets “Showered” in Love and Support

A Mother’s Blessing is a wonderful alternative to the classic baby shower, because not your baby, but YOU as the pregnant woman, are the center of attention. Women you love gather together, and with loving rituals, we strengthen and honor you as an expectant mother. This Mother’s Blessing will give you the power you need for your pregnancy, especially your birth, but also for adapting to your new role as a mother. To know, there are supportive women, that will hold you, no matter what is priceless.

As your doula, I will bring everything we need. Together we will craft beautiful remembrances and empowering items for your birth and conclude the Mother Blessing with a shared meal.

The Mother’s Blessing will take around 3 hours.

A “true” ‘Blessing Way’ is one of six big ceremonies (Blessing Ways, Holy Ways, Life Ways, Evil Ways, War Ceremonials, and Game Ways) from the Dine Navajo tribe. What I am offering is not a Navajo ritual (which lasts two full nights). I want to distance myself very clearly from it, as it would be cultural appropriation to call it that way, and to practice it, without being from that cultural background and without being initiated and granted to practice it. Please use your discernment, and respect other cultures.

Single Postpartum Support Session

For recurring customers only

  • In the warmth and familiarity of your home, I’ll be there to support you as you enter new motherhood, supporting you with Ayurvedic fourth-trimester care so you can rest, heal, restore and regain your energy.

  • Postpartum is a period that often demands more care than anticipated, yet it’s all too easy for this need to be overlooked. My care extends to all types of postpartum journeys, including early and unexpected losses. This deeply nourishing support also includes “small births” and “stillbirths”. I prefer not to use the term “miscarriage,” as it carries a connotation of fault. There is none. Both you and your partner deserve abundant support and compassion through this transition.

  • My aim is to make you feel seen, understood, and fully supported during this delicate and powerful time.

  • I will come bearing gifts of nourishing, Ayurvedic meals, tea, and herbal remedies specifically for your needs, that you’ll love and be a shoulder to lean on or cry on. We can debrief the birth as often as you like, I can do small errands, or light housework, cook Ayurvedic meals, run you a soothing herbal bath, a gentle sitz bath, show you how to veshtanam (belly-bind), or yoni svedana (yoni steam). I can teach you how to do Ayurvedic baby massage, gentle baby exercises, or how to make Ayurvedic baby soap. I can show you relaxing techniques, offer soothing touch, postpartum womb abhyanga (warm oil application), or I can simply hold your baby so you can rest, heal, eat, shower, and connect with your partner.

  • By nurturing you as you nurture your newborn, I aim to ease this transition into motherhood.

  • With my background in Psychology and Ayurveda, we’ll work together to create balance, grounding, and nourishment for both your body and spirit. Our sessions will be personalized to your needs, making each moment supportive and deeply restorative.

  • In this special time, remember that you are not alone. I am here, with care and support, every step of the way.

PRICING

€ 333,- / about 2-2,5 hours in your home, incl. food that I prepare for you

Since postpartum is forever, this session can be booked any time after you have given birth, even years later, as a “Mama Relax Time” in your home.

“Rebozo Closing Ceremony”

Half of my direct family is Mexican, and the other half lives in Austria (and other countries). But this does not entitle me to practice this ceremony, and it is really dear to my heart to shed some light on a very important topic, as we “Westerners” can be very naive.

If someone has not been initiated by a certain lineage, in this case, the traditional Maya lineage, then they should not spread nor apply any type of ceremony called “La Cerrada”, “Rebozo Closing Ceremony”, “Closing the Bones” or “Closing of the Bones” etc. It is cultural appropriation to call it this way. The nowadays encountered Westernized technique is actually very different from the original.

If you encounter someone outside of this tradition, applying it, you can be 100% sure that they are doing it wrong and that they can actually (yes, without knowing) cause harm to the physical and subtle bodies.

If you want to really experience this ritual, how it was intended to be, from an initiated wisdom keeper, you can write me here and I will connect you with a dear soul, an ancestral midwife, a traditional healer, and Maya spiritual guide (Ajq’ij).

But, please, have more discernment from who you learn, and ask them openly from which tradition they are coming.

Just because someone is from a Latin American, or any other “indigenous” country (from a European, or Westernized perception)… does not mean that they know the REAL traditions, nor does it mean that they are entitled to apply or even teach them.

Almost only midwives from the real Maya traditions are the keepers of this wisdom, and they are not the most famous Mexican women who travel the world to teach these rituals. Be careful, use your discernment, and honor the true wisdom keepers, who have been truly initiated.
